On Friday June 23, 2017 quietly and peacefully the Almighty God in his infinite wisdom called Gaye L. Hiers home to eternal rest.

Gaye L. Hiers was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on June 16, 1957 to the late Ernest and Lillian Mason. She was the fifth child of six children.

Gaye received her education from Overbrook High school graduating in 1975 with her high school diploma. She worked at Peco Energy Company for a brief time and found her calling in nurturing and caring for the ill and elderly. Gaye went to school for nursing in Philadelphia, Pa. where she was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She took her education and experience to Williamsport, where she worked as a private duty nurse for "Hope Enterprises" and "Confer Home Health", and other various clients she worked for privately.

Gaye was a loving, nurturing, and God fearing woman that loved people and people "LOVED" her! Everyone that came into contact with her came to love her. Gaye was a kind, loving person, always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and even strangers. She was always known for being able to "Help you get on your feet".  She and John were the "Obama's" of "Williamsport" and was loved by many.

Gaye went through her share of life struggles and in 1991 she decided to relocate for a change and new life to Williamsport. During that time she meant various people from all walks of life and the one that stood out was a John Hiers. John soon became the love of her life and began to show her what "True Love" looked and felt like. On February 25, 2001 they decided to stand before God in holy matrimony until her death.

Gaye leaves to cherish her memory: Her Husband John Allen Hiers; a daughter Antoinette Mason; a son Gerald Abney; and her only grandchild Rhyme Robinson (the love of her life and her pride and joy) and her grand-dog "Gucci"; four sisters: Mary Floyd (Robert) of Pa., Barbara Mason of Atlanta Ga., Alma Brown (Kevin) of New Castle De., Jean Sharp of Philadelphia, Pa., and a host of nieces, nephews, and one god child (Tayana), and a host of family and friends.

She will be greatly missed, but we are thankful for the time God has Allowed her us to love and cherish her in the flesh.
