Gary A. Roupp, 78, of Williamsport died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his residence.

Born August 10, 1939 in Williamsport, he was a son of Grant and Lydia Reed Roupp.

Gary was a 1957 graduate of Williamsport High School and also graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with a degree in Welding. He retired as a welder from Textron in 1999.

Gary was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where he served as past treasurer and assistant treasurer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a life member of the Marine Corps League, and the American Legion Post 617. Gary was a 32nd Degree Mason and was member of the Ivy Lodge #397 F&AM, Williamsport Consistory, Royal Arch Mason Chapter 222, Zafar Grotto and Fall Creek Hunting Club where he served as treasurer.

Gary enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, and participated in the Toys For Tots program.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Nancy R. (Shaffer) Roupp; two sons, Mark S. (Maureen) of Williamsport, and  Michael D. (Kelly Warner) of Montgomery, his mother, Lydia Roupp of Cogan Station, seven grandchildren, Ryan, Josh, Brittaney, Megan, Wyatt, Matthew, Christopher; seven great grandchildren, Kendra, Kilian, Camden, Henley, Brooks, Sawyer, Everly; three siblings, Faye (Ron) Cortright, Debra (Steve) Shilling and Dennis (Tammy) Roupp, all of Cogan Station.

He was preceded in death by his father Grant Roupp.

A memorial service to honor the life of Gary will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. with The Rev. David Byerly, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gary’s name may be made to Susquehanna Home Care and Hospice, C/O the Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
