Evelyn B. Garver, 101, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017, at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport.

Born February 5, 1916, in Claysburg, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Earl F. and Twila M. (Greene) Herncane.

Evelyn was the manager of several Hurr’s Dairy Stores in Williamsport for more than 35 years. She enjoyed reading, collecting coins, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda J. Garver, of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Jayne A. Garver of Harrisburg, Jay Anthony (Meg) Garver, Jr., of Martinsburg, and James A. (Kara) Garver of Claysburg; ten great grandchildren, Alexandra, Courtney, Emilee, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Bailey, Gracie, Isabella, Sophia, and Addilyn; ten nieces and nephews, Dennis (Cindy) Dively, Lisa (Mike) Mock, Eric (Beth) Closson, Michael (Joyce) Herncane, Peter (Mary Ann) Herncane, Jane Mittel, Lee Smith, Mary Ann Godwin, Barry Garver and Karen Branner.

In addition to her husband of 46 years, Frank Bobb Garver, she was preceded in death by a son, Jay A. Garver; one brother, Earl L. Herncane; two sisters, Ella Marie Closson and Marilyn Dively; and a niece, Dianne Dively.

A graveside service to honor the life of Evelyn will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, November 10, 2017, at Alto Reste Park, 109 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA 16601. Please meet at the office building.
