Elizabeth J. "Betty" Stiffler, 95, of Williamsport, died peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Chester C. "Chet" Stiffler on Oct. 11, 2007.
Born Feb. 18, 1923, in Indiana, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Eva (Grube) Martin.
Betty graduated from Indiana High School in 1940 and then attended Indiana Business School. She was a homemaker and was a member of Covenant Central Presbyterian Church where she was involved in many activities. Betty had delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol A. (John) Hammond, of Nisbet and Nancy L. (Eric) Guerrisky, of South Williamsport; six grandchildren, C.J., Robert, Gannon, William, Michael, and David; 11 great-grandchildren, and a niece Marilyn Martin Petro of Indiana.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Dick.
A funeral service to honor the life of Betty will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Covenant Central Presbyterian Church, 807 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow the burial at church.
