Andrew William Nagy, Sr., 97, of Williamsport, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville.

Born March 16, 1920 in Trenton, NJ, he was a son of Louis and Teresa (Kuraly) Nagy. He married Evelyn Jean (Burket) Nagy on November 13, 1945.

Andy graduated from Phillipsburg High School, NJ in 1937. He was an Army Veteran of WWII having obtained rank of master sergeant. He graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute in 1952, and retired after 39 years as a tool and die maker from Wilson Corporation, Sunbury, where he perfected the sleepy clip. Andy enjoyed being outdoors including fishing, hunting, and being in his garden. He was a member of New Covenant United Church of Christ.

Surviving in addition to his wife Evelyn of 71 years are four children Andrew W. Nagy, Jr. (Pamela) of Montoursville, Thomas F. Nagy (Karin) of Montoursville, Daniel M. Nagy (Kevin) of Reston, VA, and Lenora Lynn (Jeffrey Sr.) of Berwick, eight grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A memorial service to honor Andy’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 26. 2017 at New Covenant Church of Christ 202 East Third St. Williamsport. Burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. prior to service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Andrew’s name may be made to New Covenant United Church of Christ.
